How to create and edit various charts in powerpoint software (step by step)
A chart is a tool that you can use to graphically communicate data. Connecting a chart in an image allows your audience to understand the concepts behind the numbers, making it easy to see comparisons and trends.
Types of charts create and edit
PowerPoint has many different types of charts and allows you to choose the model that best fits your data. To use charts effectively, you need to understand how to use different charts.
Slide 1: PowerPoint has many types of diagrams, each of which has its own advantages. Click on the arrows to see some of the different types of charts available in PowerPoint.
Important note! If you want to paste a chart with detailed information in Excel, you must have them in Excel format!
Select the Chart option from the Insert tab .
A contact box is displayed. Use the classification on the left and read the diagrams on the right. Select the desired chart and click OK .
A chart will appear in a new window.
Enter the data into Excel.
If necessary, draw the bottom and right margins of the blue line to increase or decrease sufficient range for rows and columns. Only data that is well implemented is shown in the graph.
When this is done, click X to close the window.
The chart is completed.
You can edit the chart data at any time by selecting the chart and clicking on the Edit Data command in the Design tab .
You can also click on the chart placement command in the placeholder to place the new chart.
Then You can also embed an existing Excel chart in your PowerPoint. This is useful when you know you need to update the data in an Excel file and you want the chart to automatically update the changed Excel data.
Chart Modification and Chart Tools
– There are many other ways to synchronize and organize charts. For example, PowerPoint lets you change the chart type, reorganize the chart data, and even change the layout and style of the chart.
To change the chart type – If you find that your data does not fit well with a particular chart, you can simply enter a new chart type. In your example, you can change your chart from a line chart to a bar chart. Select the chart you want to change. The design table can be seen on the right side of the ribbon. Based on the design tab, click on the command to change the chart type.
A dialog box appears.
Select the desired chart type and click OK .
A new chart type is displayed.
To switch row and column data – sometimes your goal is to change the way charts group data. For example, in the chart below, book sales data is grouped by genre, and columns are presented for each year. However, we can not change the rows and columns in such a way that the data graph is grouped by year and the columns are displayed for each genre. In both cases, the chart contains the same data and is only organized differently.
Select the diagram you want to modify. The Design tab is displayed . From this tab, select the Edit Data command in the Data group .
Click the chart again and then select the Switch Row / Column command in the Data group .
Rows and columns change.
Note that when numeric data is entered in the first column of the page, changing columns and rows can cause unexpected results. One solution is to add an apostrophe before each number, indicating that parts of the computer can represent it as text instead of a numeric value. For example, 2013 is entered as ‘2013’.
To change the chart layout
The preset chart layout allows you to modify chart elements, including chart titles, margins, and data labels, to make your chart easier to read. Select the diagram you want to modify. Design tab is observed.
From the Design tab , click on the Quick layout command .
Select the desired predefined design from the list that appears.
The chart can be updated to show the new design.
To change the chart element (such as the chart title), click on it and start typing.
To change the chart type: Chart style allows you to quickly modify the layout and get to know your chart. Select the diagram you want to modify. The Design tab is displayed . Based on the Design tab, click on the Delete More arrow in the Chart Styles group.
Select. Graphs can be viewed in the selected style.
