Learn about keyboard shortcuts on your Mac
Increase your productivity on a variety of Apple PCs by using keyboard shortcuts on the Mac’s operating system. Users of the computer world in various operating systems are certainly familiar with the basic application shortcuts.
Shortcuts for Mac users must use the shortcut Comman + C or Comman + V to copy and paste text or other types of documents. In addition to these practical shortcuts, there are many other shortcuts that significantly increase the productivity of using macOS.
Esc
The Esc key has many uses in the Mac OS . This single key will save you a lot of trouble in many cases. For example, if you run into a challenge in the middle of executing a command and the operating system does not respond, you can stop the operation with the Esc key. Simply put, the Skip key is used to stop or exit an ongoing operation.
As a common use of Esc, imagine that you are capturing an image of a part of your screen, if in the middle of the process you notice that the page selection is wrong, the process stops just by pressing the Esc key. In another example, if a web page has a problem in the middle of loading, you can stop loading with Esc.
Comman-W shortcut
This shortcut is used to close open windows. For example, use the Command-W shortcut to close a web browser tab. The Option-Command-W shortcut can also be used to close all windows of a running application.
Command-Y shortcut
Many Mac users use QuickLook to see a preview of the items they are looking for. To use this feature, you must first select an item in the Finder. Then, by pressing the Space key, you will see a preview of it. There is also a keyboard shortcut for this. To use the shortcut, you must first select the item and then press the Command-Y buttons.

Using a comma key in a shortcut may not seem so practical at first glance; But it is interesting to know that this combination works very well in many applications. For example, when working with any application, if you are looking for the Preferences section, you should use the menu section and the corresponding option. In a simpler solution, you can run the settings section very quickly by pressing the Command and comma (,) keys at the same time.
Command-G
Most Mac users are familiar with the Command-F shortcut to find words in documents and web pages. Command-G shortcut is an alternative to this shortcut, which also has interesting performance. Using Command-F you will find the word or phrase you want in the text, on the other hand if you use Command-G, you can move between the found words. In other words, each time you press the shortcut, you are taken to the next repetition of the word in the text. You can also use the Shift-Command-G keys to return to the previous word.
Command-M shortcut
Using this shortcut, you can shrink the front window of an application in the desktop environment and move it to the application dock. You can also use Command-Option-M to shrink all windows belonging to an application.

Using these two frequently used buttons and clicking on the desktop screen, you can see all the open windows of running applications. If you want to see open windows of a particular application, after holding Option and Command, click on one of the application windows.
Command-Shift-A
By combining the above three buttons in the Finder or desktop environment, you can open the Mac Application folder. If you use U instead of the A button, the Utilities folder will open in a new finder window. Other useful buttons in the above shortcut include:

- Command-Shift-H: View the Home folder
- Command-Shift-I: View the iCloud Drive folder
Command-Space
Once you get acquainted with this shortcut, you will do many of your tasks with higher speed and efficiency. Pressing the buttons above opens the Spotlight section, and you can enter the phrases you want to search.
Command-L
Use a combination of Command and L to search very quickly or browse a new website in Safari. By pressing two buttons, the browser address bar is selected and you can quickly enter your target search or webpage URL.
Command-Tab
This shortcut is used to switch between applications. After pressing two buttons and holding the Command, you can also switch between applications by pressing Tab again.

Use the shortcut above to show or hide the dock in each app.
Fn with left or right navigation key
To quickly scroll up or down a webpage, move more quickly across the webpage by holding down the Function or Fn key and the right (bottom) or left (top) keys. The same process occurs with Command-Up or Command-Down shortcuts. Another alternative is to use the Control-Tab and Control-Shift-Tab buttons.
Command with the left or right key
Using the Command key and the left cursor, you can go to the previous page in the browser. Use the Command and Right Arrow keys to move forward.

Option-Shift-Volume

Practical Tip Bar Mac
If you are using a MacBook Pro equipped with a touch bar, the combination of Shift and Command and 6 is used to capture images of the content being displayed in the touch bar. If you add the Control key to this combination, the captured image will be copied to the clipboard and you can paste it into any file.
Users who make extensive use of the touch bar may have repeatedly encountered the problem of accidentally touching the Siri button . To prevent this problem, you can change the location of the Siri button . To change the position, go to the Keyboard Preferences section and select Customize Control Strip. Once selected, the keys on the touchpad will vibrate. Move the mouse cursor down the screen and continue moving. As you can see, one of the items in the touch bar is selected. Move the mouse to select the Siri button. Then move it to where you want it to be.
If you use function buttons as usual in some applications, one of the touch bar settings will be very useful for you. With this setting, the function buttons are always visible in the desired applications in the touch bar. To enable the feature, first open Keyboad System Preferences. Then enter Function Keys and click the + button. From this section, you can select the desired applications to display the function buttons permanently. To display the usual touch bar commands in those apps, you just have to press Fn in each app.
Safari application shortcuts
Safari browser has many functional combinations of keyboard keys that increase its use efficiency:
- Command + I: A new email message containing the contents of the current webpage is created.
- Command + Shift + I: A new email message containing only the URL of the current webpage is created.
- Spacebar: Used to scroll down the size of a page on the current webpage.
- Shift + Spacebar: Used to scroll up to one page on the current webpage.
- Command + Y: Used to open and close the History window.
