How to use iCloud email address on Android

Many users think that if they migrate from iOS to Android, they will no longer be able to use their iCloud email address; this is not true.

If you stop using Apple iPhone phones and enter the world of Android phones, you don’t have to abandon various iCloud services like iCloud Mail. Although Apple has not facilitated the process of using iCloud email on Android devices, it is possible to do so.

In this tutorial we suggest you use the Gmail app; however, most email apps allow you to log in with your iCloud account and you can choose one of them.

Before you get started, you need to make changes to your iCloud account. Apple’s 2-step authentication system typically makes it difficult to sign in to different apps (crunchy) through an iCloud account. However, Apple does allow you to generate a specific password specifically for miscellaneous applications to sign in to your iCloud account.

To do this, first log into Apple’s official website and enter your Apple ID-username and password . After logging in, scroll down to reach Security ; in Security, find the App-specific passwords section and click on Generate password below:

ICloud / iCloud

If you do not see this section in the Security section, you will need to enable 2-step authentication on your Apple account. You’ll need a Mac, iPhone, or iPad to enable this feature.

In the new page, write a brief description of the password. After writing the topic description, click on the Create option :

ICloud / iCloud

Save the password that Apple generates for you. To complete the login process, you need to use a new password instead of an Apple ID. After completing these steps, go to the next step to add your iCloud account to Gmail.

Once the new password is generated, everything is ready to sync your e-mail address with Gmail; the reason we recommend using Gmail is that the app is available on all Android phones, and most users use Gmail as the default app. Use to view emails. Note, the following steps apply to other email apps as well.

To get started, swipe down from the top of the screen to display the Notification panel. Then tap the gear icon to enter the settings menu. You can, of course, go into the app list and then tap Settings:

ICloud / iCloud

In the main Settings menu, tap Accounts. Depending on the device you are using and your Android version, this section may have a different name, such as Accounts and Backup:

ICloud / iCloud

If you are using a Samsung phone , tap the Accounts option again after entering the next menu . On other Android devices, you probably won’t get the second step and go straight to the next step:

ICloud / iCloud

At this point you will see a list of synchronized user accounts with your device. Scroll down the page to the bottom of the topic list; tap the Add account option :

ICloud / iCloud

Next, select the Personal (IMAP) option that appears on the right side of the Gmail icon:

ICloud / iCloud

At this point, the Gmail Sing-in page appears. You need to type in the email address of the cloud and tap Next:

ICloud / iCloud

Enter the password you received at the beginning of the tutorial through the Apple website; note that the password is not the Apple ID password. After typing the subject password, tap Next:

ICloud / iCloud

If you have entered the email address and password correctly, you will be able to log in to your Android (via Gmail app) iCloud account; once you log in, the process of syncing your iCloud email will start with your phone. At this point, you may need to apply some extra settings, such as having Gmail sync your emails from time to time.

To ensure full synchronization of your iCloud email with your Android device, you can sign in to the Gmail app, then tap the menu option in the upper left. This page should make your iCloud email visible along with other emails. You can tap to sign in to this account. You can now send and receive emails from your iCloud account using the Gmail app.

Of course, as we mentioned, you can also log into your iCloud account through other Android apps. In fact, you don’t have to use Gmail to sync your iCloud emails with Android phones. There are other good alternatives, such as Microsoft Outlook. The process for these apps is similar to what we said above.

For example, in the AutoLock app you should tap the menu, then enter the icon for adding email; this icon is a white envelope with a + sign in the corner:

Microsoft Outlook / Microsoft Outlook

At this point, type the email address of the cloud and tap Continue:

Microsoft Outlook / Microsoft Outlook

AutoLock automatically detects that you’re trying to log in to your iCloud account at this point, so you don’t have to do anything else. You just need to type your password and tap the checkbox at the top right of the screen:

Microsoft Outlook / Microsoft Outlook

By following the steps above, you’ll be able to view your iCloud account emails and more through the AutoLock app.
